Services We Provide:
Straight Felling
The straight fell of trees is the removal of trees as a single unit. Straight felling will be limited to such situations that pose zero risk of damage to any property or persons whatsoever. Only when all risks have been taken into account, such as telephone and power cables not crossing through and are clear of the tree, the tree has a natural lean towards the felling direction or is standing straight and balanced, at least 5m clearance from buildings or any other structure that may be damaged, then the tree can be felled from ground level.

Section Tree Felling
The Tree Trimming Guys provide this service when a tree has to be taken down and is in an awkward location, with multiple targets (structures that can be damaged). This means that the tree needs to be felled in sections using advanced rigging techniques and in some occasions using a crane.
The process begins by a climber installing a rigging line in the top of the tree overhanging an appropriate lowering point. Then we will begin from the bottom of the tree crown and attach the lowering rope to the first branch from the crown break. We then make a controlled cut in the direction that we want the branch to move. Finally it is over to the groundsmen to lower the branch in a safe and controlled manner to the ground. This is then processed and extracted from the garden and removed. This process is repeated until we have reached the top of the tree and is only left with a standing straight stem.
The remaining tree will either be cut into small manageable sections and thrown to the ground, or lowered off itself using blocks and pulleys.
Stump Grinding
Stump grinding involves the removal of stump to a specified depth. Upon completion of stump removal, the remaining hole will be back-filled with soil or grinding waste to leave a level minimal trace of the work. The complete removal of a tree trunk is a job for and only for a stump grinder, this is a machine with carbine tipped teeth attached to a large rotating wheel with the teeth attached at different angles at sequence all around the wheel. This creates a bread knife affect. This machine is operated by one man, once the stump has turned into mulch and a hole has replaced the tree stump, the hole is then filled back in with the mulch.
Crown Reductions, Shaping, Pruning & Thinning
Each tree will be individually considered in relation to the shape, size, character, condition, site and species of tree. All operations will be completed leaving each tree in an acceptable, well-balanced and safe condition. Each branch will be removed using the ABC cut method where risk of tearing is reduced.
All large limbs will be lowered by ropes and slings to avoid damage to the tree and its surroundings. We will ensure that all sections fall to the ground in a controlled manner. Dead, diseased or damaged branches will be pruned back to the corresponding branch collar. In the case of crossed rubbing branches, the branches will be assessed, pruned or removed appropriately, whilst ensuring that a reasonable overall shape is maintained.
We provide a number of additional services, simply give us a call and we will give you the best advice for your project and match it with a competitive price to boot.

Things To Do In Staten Island, NY
New York City isn’t all bright lights and skyscrapers. We’ve also got wildlife refuges, botanical gardens, parks and miles of beaches—all of which you can see on Staten Island, the City’s greenest borough. The island’s other sights include one of America’s longest-operating military forts, a living colonial village and a Chinese sculpture garden. Intrigued? Use our guide to plan your one-day getaway.
Staten Island Ferry: Though the borough is accessible by car, the ferry is the most budget-friendly and certainly the most scenic way to reach Staten Island. It’s free and runs 24 hours a day. The ride offers excellent photo ops of the Lower Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty, and will land you on the other side of the New York Harbor in under 30 minutes.
September 11 Memorial: Once you’ve disembarked at the St. George Ferry Terminal, take a short walk along the Staten Island coast to the North Shore Waterfront Esplanade. There you’ll encounter architect Masayuki Sono’s sleek, winglike structure that honors the victims of 9/11 from Staten Island, bearing the names, birthdays, job titles and silhouettes of each.
National Lighthouse Museum: On the other side of the terminal, explore the history of the nation’s lighthouses. The permanent collection at this self-guided museum includes the Wall of Lights, a lighthouse-shaped display of over 180 lighthouse models, and the Lighthouse Timeline, tracing the structures’ history back to ancient Egypt.
Hypno-Tronic Comics: Find intriguing toys, games, jewelry and memorabilia in this locally owned shop. True geeks should be on the lookout for collectible editions of vintage comics, plus regularly added new releases.
Fort Wadsworth: A short bus ride along the northeastern shore will bring you to this former military base, now a 226-acre public park. Wind through the catacomb-like tunnels of the fort, take in views of the harbor and Verrazzano Bridge from the overlook tower and—in summer and early fall—get acquainted with the park’s taciturn landscaping crew: a herd of grazing goats.
Alice Austen House: This charming Victorian cottage and former Austen family home houses a collection of Alice Austen’s documentary photography as well as rotating exhibits by contemporary artists. Stop by to get a glimpse of New York City life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden: Snug Harbor once served as a refuge for retired sailors, but today it’s a cultural hub for Staten Island, encompassing museums, historic buildings and acres of landscaped gardens. One such space, the Chinese Scholar’s Garden, contains bamboo-lined paths, waterfalls and a koi pond that recreate a tranquil essence of Ming Dynasty–era China right in NYC.
Pier 76: Pizza is kind of a big deal in New York City, and Staten Island is no exception. For dinner, try a pie at this St. George pizza joint, an offshoot of the illustrious Joe & Pat’s. The long menu includes casual-food favorites like buffalo wings and pasta primavera—but the crispy, customizable thin-crust pizza is the must-order.
St. George Theatre: Around the corner from Pier 76, find post-pizza entertainment at this historic theater. It first raised its curtain in 1929 and maintains a calendar of comedy shows, concerts, movie screenings or and family-friendly theater performances.
